Sean Hawkins

I have a Diploma of Entertainment Technology from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School. I trained for two years touching on various aspects of the theatrical industry before deciding that I would focus on lighting design. After spending 2011 freelancing in and around Wellington, NZ I moved down to Christchurch, NZ and started working full time at The Court Theatre where I was able to hone my craft, designing over 20 productions over 5 years (2012 - 2017). Working for The Court Theatre brought me in contact with a variety of other practitioners that gave me opportunities to practise my craft in different theatres. From the end of 2017 to the end of 2019 I was employed as the Head of Lighting at Soho Theatre Co in London's West End. I have returned to New Zealand and am currently based in Christchurch.
